The famous Patterson-Gimlin footage was taken at Bluff Creek, October 20, 1967. Let’s learn more.
Highway 96 (The Bigfoot Byway) takes you by the junction where you turn off, but also shows the outlet of Bluff Creek into the Klamath River. This point is:
53 miles south of Happy Camp, California.
27 miles north of Willow Creek, California.

Across the highway from this very spot is the Bluff Creek Trail.
There is a turn out. Then walk across the Highway and you will see the sign for the trail, also you can get to a cliff-side view of the Creek. Be careful.
Cross the bridge heading south and turn right immediately to find Bluff Creek Road.

This guy gets around. We also saw this sticker at the North American Bigfoot Center, Boring, Oregon. Two seen above in the first two photos.

You will see from the virtual map, that Bluff Creek Road takes you another 9 miles northwest from Highway 96 (The Bigfoot Byway). Here is the sign you see just as you pull off the highway. Remember you just crossed the bridge as you are heading south:

This would represent a whole different day-trip. The first nine miles on Bluff Creek Road takes you to Fish Lake. After that, we presume the roads get a bit more tricky. Let us know at Bigfoot Eruption, if you have been there.
Where on this Creek was the Patterson-Gimlin footage? We want to know…

Facebook – Bluff Creek Project
The Wikipedia page tries to explain the location, and then the Facebook page for the Bluff Creek Project is very detailed.
In the movie, Willow Creek, a member of the Bluff Creek Project, gives information to the lead characters, at the Bigfoot Book Store in Willow Creek. He shares how they can get to the actual site of the Patty sighting. Let us know how this description works for you, if you try. Take lots of water (and a weapon). Maybe you should see the movie first to learn of what precautions to take!

We saw this movie on Amazon Prime Video. Very Hitchcockian.
More about the Bigfoot Book Store:
In it you will recognize Bryce Johnson from the Travel Channel’s show called Expedition Bigfoot.

The 1964 Christmas Day Storm (Amazon) had opened up that part of the Creek, stripping it of foliage. This allowed the open spaces seen in the October 20, 1967, footage.
There was another storm that also influenced this, pending info…

The growth since then, has made the area to be unrecognizable. Again, see the Bluff Creek Project Facebook page, for a detailed look.

Update: July 2021
We have been thinking a lot about things…
In the movie mentioned above, are mysterious characters that threaten violence to protect the Bigfoot Creatures in the Bluff Creek area from being found.
Bob Heironimus, claims to have been hired to be in the Bigfoot home-made costume, but shoots holes in his own story and comes across sounding like a liar. A disinformation program to keep people from believing in Bigfoot Creatures? Perhaps publicity-grab, to lie about it?
In both cases, the movie and Bob Heironimus, showing people in desperation trying to hide the truth. That would be a good story.

Hey, at least we can’t be sued for using original art.
