FESTIVAL INFO – Oregon Bigfoot Festival & Beyond

Pictures from the Event (pending)

June 29, 2024

Oaks Amusement Park

7805 SE Oaks Park Way, Portland, Oregon 97202

Note: This festival is not what it used to be. For some that is good. You will get plenty of Bigfoot, but open are the floodgates for all the other phenomena.

At Bigfoot Eruption we believe some the phenomena do cross over into the Bigfoot mystery. This year we will get to hear the speakers and we will see if they blend the ideas. If you just want a Bigfoot festival this, isn’t it. It could be called:

The “Woo Oregon Bigfoot Festival with friends.”

Thinking back to the first “and Beyond” version of the Oregon Bigfoot Festival, in 2022, we will admit that it was a brain blender to hear a researcher speaker in the distance talking about how religion has no part in the Bigfoot phenomena, and then you walk through the vendors and find Witches, Mediums, and so on.

The Event:

We had never been to Oaks Park/Amusement Park. Warning: The park you come to first is not it. Keep going on the road past the park and you will see amusement park themed items like a lot of trees and a roller coaster. Parking was $5 on this day. We left our receipt on the dash but was asked for it at the Bigfoot Event. Fortunately, they believed us.

As we entered it was not clear which way to go, but we figured since we wanted to walk through all of it, we just started walking. We went to the left which took us through rows of picnic benches that would be used for the masses to hear the three main speakers.

We were three hours late, and one other speaker was talking. He is a great guy and an expert on the weird stuff in Alaska. He is at sQuatch fest every year in Kelso/Longview Washington in January.

Now walking in was free, but hearing the speakers requires a ticket for $30. We felt somewaht in viloation, but we could only be there about 45 minutes so we just kept walking.

We walked by/or near every vendor. We talked to many. We felt that many vendors wanted more love, so we tried to be nice and talk to as many as we could. From many of the vendors we got the impression or actually were told, that they were disappointed by the viewership to their booths. This made us think that we should be a vendor next year. We never make a profit anyway, so the goal would be to love on the community and have more time to talk to them.

Note: To feel like it is an actual festival invest in the tickets to hear the speakers.

Note: We could hear the speaker from pretty far away; making the need for a ticket even less. This felt wrong. In 2022, the heat wave in Canby, Oregon, the event had the speakers so separated that vendors felt like an uninvited part of the event. In fact, the speakers had their own booths in the shade on the side of the trees that was the speaking area, while all of us vendors were on the other side of the trees/separated and we were just there, like a bunch of gypsies.

So how to incorporate both as one event while still honoring the speaking portion as a paid event?

In 2018 and 2019, this event was up by the Columbia Gorge near Gresham, Oregon and had the speaking portion as the Oregon Bigfoot Conference, but it was within the Oregon Bigfoot Conference. We felt subbed, but it made sense.

In 2019, Eli Watson of the Cryptid Campfire, came up from southern California with his dad for the event. In 2024 it didn’t feel like that sort of event.

At the 2022 event people came from as far as Boston, Indiana, and Montana. One person even came from overseas.

What if we purchased more than one vendor spot and have one of the portions have chairs for “passers-by” to rest and get involved with Bigfoot discussions. The rest of the spaced could be for our merchandise and Bigfoot evidence.

Note: 911Bigfoot Help has given us his Bigfoot evidence.

What we experienced:

Aaron Bratcher was advertising his new movie “Slash Sasquatch.” He was nice and was signing his $10 posters. He gave our mascot, KylerBigfoot7, a hatchet, inflatable. Kyler was excited.
