Things We Learned:
We did not go this year as vendors.
We had gall-bladder surgery that we were dealing with as we were still in recovery mode. So, we had not submitted our application as early as usual. The POC was using our old email, not her fault, so we were not getting the messages. It seemed so far away, until it wasn’t. She sent a text, and we shared an updated email. Next, we had to consider the pros and cons of even going at all.
The Bigfoot aspect of the event was becoming less and less every year. It felt bad not to go because then were we just adding to the downfall to the Bigfoot Bash aspect of Logtoberfest?
Wyman’s (911 Bigfoot Help) health had only gotten worse and the opportunity cost of going seemed like too much. I sent the bad news and in the response, I could see the ripple effect starting already. What an awful feeling.
For a week stressed over ways to actually go, but without Wyman. Showing his Bigfoot evidence. Is that even ethical?
The Compromise:
The compromise we came up with did not help Bigfoot Bash, but a solution for Wyman long term. Maggie’s Outdoor Store, Bingen, Washington, was an option we had been thinking about and maybe we mentioned it once, because Wyman said he would like it if his Bigfoot Evidence could go to this store. It is a store that takes in Bigfoot reports, so maybe. This way people that actually know of the topic can see his evidence and even call him. People would be influenced by his evidence on a daily basis.
We called and James the owner was excited to meet us. So, on the same day as the Bigfoot Bash, we met with James, he liked the evidence and what Wyman was saying. He gladly took the evidence and said he needed a month to get the display ready. He even said he was going to reach out to friends of his that he knew would want to talk to Wyman, the Creators of the documentary, “The Face of Beauty: Bigfoot Revealed.”
In college sports now players can enter what is called the portal and go from one school to a bigger school. This is how this feel.
So again, the void for Bigfoot Bash. What can we do. Meeting with the Bigfoot Eruption brain trust to decide. Knowing that we won’t make money to pay for the trip, plus all the physical labor involved, and now no Wyman, and no Bigfoot evidence. We need to find a reason. To add something to a festival to try and make it have more of a Bigfoot presence? Is that reason enough? What about the patrons that think it is dumb? What about how it feels for us to feel dumb, the humble pie as many of the patrons don’t care about Bigfoot. The problem with a festival being married to another festival.

After delivering the Bigfoot Evidence to Bingen, Washington we drove by the festival on our way home to schout it out for next year. here is what we saw.
We did not see a Bigfoot/Costume walking around like in past years, but we did see Smokey the Bear. maybe Bigfoot was on a break.

It seemed like people, families, and kids were enjoying the festival even without Bigfoot experiencers to share more about Bigfoot. The event was cute. Do we go next year and try to add more of a Bigfoot presence? Still thinking on it.
We saw a shuttle to the parking area, cider press, chainsaw museum, Wind River Association booth, tiny home company, candle vendor, plenty of out-houses, about three food vendors, a kids play area, face painting, a Bigfoot themed sign craftsman, a photographer booth with a Bigfoot backdrop, and the beer garden with food and music, $20 fee.
It seems the community does support this event as the area is a logging community.
The event was on a closed side street which worked. Up and back, meaning patrons would easily pass each vendor twice.
