Defining the Caribbean geographically has been hard. North America for some pretty good reasons, like Mexico, Gulf of Mexico, and Puerto Rico are already established as North America.

Aruba is just a mile or three north of Venezuela, so South America, right? Well, we can’t get a straight answer, so, North America for now.

The Caribbean Sea is also a factor, so we will call this Region, the Caribbean since all, or many of, these Islands touch it. We wanted to call it the West Indies, but even that does not count all the Islands touched by the Caribbean waters. (Still Learning!)

West Indies – Wikipedia

Sub Region of North America

Islands in the Antilles – The Bahamas – Turks – Caicos Islands

Sometimes interchangeable with Caribbean…

Broken out geographically as:

The Greater Antilles – north

Lesser Antilles – south and east (Leeward Antilles)

Why is the Caribbean in a Bigfoot Site? Check out Aruba and Puerto Rico, listed above. More soon.
