Bigfoot Eruption Redwoods Tour – July 2019
Day One
Two Bigfoot Eruption team members depart Albany, Oregon; arrive in Corvallis, Oregon to pick up one more team member. Depart Corvallis, for Grants Pass, Oregon.
Find Bigfoot statue in field, off of the I-5 Highway, north of Winston, Oregon. We need a photo of it but is already in the site as the Yoncalla Bigfoot. We got off the Highway south, and then got back on headed north to be as close to it as possible.
Stop for every Bigfoot statue along the roadways!
Arrive in Grants Pass, Oregon for In-n-Out Burger, yum!
From Grants Pass, Oregon drive to Cave Junction, Oregon; visit the Oregon Caves Visitor Center.
Drive south, and enter Waldo Road before getting to O’brien, Oregon. Head to Happy Camp, California.

Happy Camp Bigfoot

Bigfoot Coffee Shop
Was told to visit the Ranger Station to learn more about the location of the trailheads. We wanted this info to get pictures of the trail effort, but they were far enough away, we had to get going. The receptionist said that the town Mural was the best way to know.
Forgot to visit the Happy Camp River Park, home of the Bigfoot Jamboree. We were so rushed for time.
We will miss the Bigfoot Jamboree, which is Labor Day Weekend (September).
Created a sub website for Happy Camp, which makes it the third:
BigfootEruption.com/Shop/
BigfootEruption.com/911BigfootHelp/
BigfootEruption.com/HappyCamp/
This Happy Camp site will house much more information about Happy Camp events, Bigfoot stories, Bigfoot themed locations, and the “Hope for Happy CAMP LLC.”
Note: As of September 2022, still needing a point of contact from Happy Camp that is willing to help us with the needed info.
Depart Happy Valley by way of Highway 96, The Bigfoot Scenic Byway, explore any Bluff Creek pit-stops.
Bigfoot Scenic Byway
Bluff Creek
End day #1 at Willow Creek, California. Goal was to visit all Arrive Bigfoot themed locations in Willow Creek.
We met Christopher, Leia, and Benjamin at the Bigfoot Steakhouse, and they were excited to learn about Bigfoot Eruption. They saw our Bigfoot Eruption shirts, plus we were carrying in some Bigfoot Plush Creatures, so they noticed us, and asked. They were visiting from Tennessee and agreed to send info about Bigfoot themed locations whenever they see some. Gave them Bigfoot Eruption t-shirts, which they liked.
DAY TWO
Goal: Find a Willow Creek POC for future information and photos. ANSWER: Rose and Esther, employees at the Bigfoot Motel.

Locations we did not see, nor did we have time to find:
Depart Willow Creek, with our Bigfoot Burger, and head west on Highway 299 for Arcata, California.
At Arcata, head south to Garberville, California.
Coffee stop in Eureka.
Before Garberville, pull off the main Highway to travel the side road that goes through the “Avenue of the Giants.”
Redcrest Resort Redwoods Gift Shop
Park Visitor’s Center, had zero Bigfoot theme. Still, a great interpretive center for the area.
The Shrine Drive-Thru Tree Gift Shop
After Meyer’s Flat, we got back on Highway 101 south, because we were running out of time, but the final leg of the “Avenue of the Giants” we missed, but it takes you close to Garberville. Pass Garberville, and ten minutes later you are almost to the Legend of Bigfoot…
At the Redcrest Resort Gift Shop (above), Tara told us that there was another Bigfoot store further south near the Richardson Redwood Grove State Park. She was right, it turns out she was describing the location that started it all for the Bigfoot Eruption idea…
Legend of Bigfoot Souvenir Shop
Depart the Legend of Bigfoot Souvenir Shop. Head north, heading home. We were done heading south.
Same Coffee stop in Eureka, where this time we saw a giant Bigfoot banner.

Passed Arcata, California, where we had merged from, Willow Creek earlier the same day. We said Goodby to Willow Creek as we passed. Continue north on Highway 101.

Redwood Burl
Orick Burl
Just north of Orick, pulled off onto a side road to pass the Lady Bird Redwood Grove, and then got lost.
Insert pics…
This destroyed what daylight we had left. The rest of our trip was in darkness. At least by the time we go to our next Bigfoot themed location…
Marshall’s Redwood Gallery Gift Shop
DID NOT VISIT: HONORABLE MENTION
Crescent City Chamber of Commerce
Crescent City Parks Department
Trail Head for the Bigfoot Trail
Decision: back to Grants Pass for In-n-Out Burger, or head up the Oregon Coast. Since it was dark, we chose the fastest way, and thus, In-n-Out Burger, then north up the I-5 Highway.
Insert map…
Crescent City to Corvallis, Oregon (up the Oregon Coast), 5 hours 11 minutes, 263 miles
Crescent City to Corvallis, Oregon (pass Cave Junction, OR put to Grants Pass, then up I-5)
