Back to Fallen Phenomenon, main page…

Things that you would think would penetrate the hardened heart, and yet sometimes, still no effect.

Initially when our Deconstructionist point of contact found us, we would share things that seemed like a zinger, meaning, “This will help him believe in God again.”

Again, he already believed in God, and to him God was awful.

So how to prove to him that God is not a murderous jerk? We tried again with zingers. Podcasts that were amazing and made us feel that the message penetrated in a positive way and every time, nope. He would then have long detailed responses of why the people in the interview were wrong.

One day we called to talk. It was a pretty one-sided discussion as he had years of pain and questions. It was like a firehose putting out a spark, and then not turning off. It was so hard we eventually cried out, “Enough!” We found a way to end the discussion with hopes to regroup and heal.

We have not tried as hard to share zingers, since then. There are no answers good enough. Showing that nothing is enough until a person is ready to believe.

Looking through old emails he shared that he just needs to see a miracle. This we know was a theme in the New Testament. Something Jesus would not do lightly. The stubborn heart would not get a miracle, but instead those that believed by faith were given miracles. Is this a clue?

Conclusion: Our Christian answers don’t make sense to someone who is not ready to hear it or accept it. it takes a heart change. So, we focus on other things that we can share about life. But the topic of hard questions, are always present. Mostly examples of God failing or being untrustworthy. We try to learn from it and pray to be strong in our own belief.

Our favorite zingers again can best be described by the Podcasts that encases the interviews:

Episode 61: Zach King The Ex-Satanic High Wizard — The Confessionals (theconfessionalspodcast.com)

594: World of Portals with Ex-Satanic High Wizard Zach King — The Confessionals (theconfessionalspodcast.com)

One of our favorite topics of what a good Zinger is: The case for Christ, the book and the movie, both depicting really well a journalist asking the questions about Jesus and God while not believing. We shared this with our contact, and we think this is a rare moment where there was no reply. Future searching back through our emails, we may know someday. Again, a good source for a professional asking professionals some of the hard questions. Each response given felt like a zinger. Meaning, hard not to believe after hearing it.

Disclaimer: The Case for Christ helps us believe in God, but does it help a deconstructionist choose to follow God, again? Probably not until they are ready, but it did show with each proof of Christ, that a loving creator was involved.

Wyman Smiths favorite Zinger:

Love God Trust God – Fallen Eruption (bigfooteruption.com)

Pastor Matt’s:

Embrace the gorgeous gospel and avoid the hard questions. As we have learned since being told this, attacking the hard questions often has us chasing our tails and then our faith is challenged.

Our deconstructist point of contact says he agrees with pastor matt. That this is the best way to be a believing Christian, but for him this also shows the problem of Christianity. Followers following what he feels is possible a misguided or cruel God.

Bigfoot Eruption Responds – “If you don’t follow God, you will still follow something. Something else. If you don’t trust God, the Creator, then who can you trust.” Seems like a clue right there.
