Grew up in the countryside of what is now the Kuebler Exit off Highway 5, Salem, Oregon.
Enjoyed band and youth group, but country living made life to be simple.

Lived there until moving to Eugene for Northwest Christian College.
Did not finish her degree because she was getting married, and her parents said she would not need a degree now that she was getting married. This would hurt her later in life when her husband had health problems.

Throughout adult life enjoyed visits to and from family members.
Lived in Salem, Eugene, Oklahoma, Salem again, Monmouth, Jefferson, Albany, Lebanon, and then Corvallis, Oregon.

Husband died February 27, 1997.
