Back to Hacking Bigfoot Eruption, main page…

Looks like our first order ever, from England, United Kingdom, was a sham.

Here is what to look for:

Used BBBB BBBBB as a first and last name. Not a showstopper, because maybe they want to keep their name private? Maybe that is actually their name. Benefit of the doubt?

Next the email address did not work. Maybe they just typed it in wrong?

OK, so we can’t email them, so let’s send them a letter. (?)

First, we confirmed with our bank that their attempt to make a bank transfer did or did not make it. Bank confirmed no such transfer, even though we have evidence that this person attempted a bank transfer on February 1, 2022.

This payment problem may have been on our end as a Woo Commerce Paypal plugin had expired. Problem now solved on our end with a new plugin.

So, let’s ship them another of the same product? We don’t want to lose favor with England, and future English fans. (?)

OK, so go to Google maps to confirm the address:

74 Eastbourne Rd, ROBOROUGH EX14 5HN United Kingdom (UK)

Oh, wait, not nice of us to show the actual address? Except, in Google Maps, there is no 74 Eastbourne Rd. Many miles east is the town of Eastbourne, but not a road of that name in the ROBOROUGH township. This is what it looks like in Google Maps:

74 Eastbourne Rd, ROBOROUGH EX14 5HN United Kingdom (UK)

So it seems we can’t proceed in good faith.

No name.

Email is no good.

Address does not exist.

Then why did they try to make a direct bank transfer payment. This could only mean, the attempt was valid. Not SPAM?

SPAM is an unsolicited email, so that is the wrong term. So this isn’t even SPAM?

Is it a Phishing Scam? An attempt to email us and get our personal info by posing as a trusted source? No, this is not that, either.

We will send a letter to that address and will see if they respond; however, we can’t justify sending a product to an address that does not exist, so we will wait for them to confirm.

Ok, this seems like proof. A scammer was just messing around.
