Traveling from Oregon, down just south of Cave Junction (Oregon Caves), Highway 199.
We would be well on our way to Crescent City, on the California Coast, right? Instead, Imagine you can turn southeast, instead, just before the town of O’Brien, Oregon and then up and down to Happy Camp California.
You can stay at the Bigfoot RV Park and Cabins.
Next: The Bigfoot Scenic Byway…
Represented below is Highway 96, in dark blue, and this is the Bigfoot Scenic Byway. Connecting Happy Camp, California, to Willow Creek California, where you can stay at the Bigfoot Motel.
You see to the north, in light blue, Highway 96 meanders over to the Yreka area (I-5 Highway), from the north end of Happy Camp.
Heading southeast out of the bottom end, through Willow Creek, you can get to Weaverville, and then onward to the Redmond area, also on the I-5 Highway. However, if you drive west out of Willow Creak, then you head towards the Pacific Coast towns of California, like Arcata.
But, while on the BIGFOOT SCENIC BYWAY, you will experience much Beauty.

Rest Areas:
Bluff Creek
Bluff Creek Road; we pulled into it, just south but perpendicular to the bridge that crossed the Creek, to turn around to go back to the Bluff Creek sign. We were tempted to travel it as it goes the upriver direction of the famous Bluff Creek Bigfoot footage by Patterson/Gimlin. It was clear in our day of travel, we wanted no part of driving to the above listed locations on a forest road.

And then Willow Creek.
