The Mande Barung, is the Bigfoot of India. Bigfoot is all over the world, and yet has different names based on the region. In this case the region is the tropical forest of the Garo Hills in India.
A close relative to the Mande Barung, is the Yeti. Thus, it is known as the Indian Yeti. It is said that it is ten feet tall, black to dark brown, and looks like the ape version of Bigfoot. Again the categories, possibly due to inbreeding between species are:

Adam Davies is an explorer that has sought out to find this Bigfoot Creature. Key sightings in 2002 and 2007, has made the Mandu Barang especially relevant.
Some want to say it is just tribal folklore, but if it is basically a Yeti, then it is harder to not consider the current information.
