Back to the “The Oregon Bigfoot Highway”  main page…

The actual trip to collect the information: Sunday, August 5, 2018.

The creation and planning for the Oregon Bigfoot Highway Eruption Tour, was inspired by the fact that the Eruption ran out of daylight on the last day of their “2018 Washington Eruption Tour.” Of course , the Oregon Bigfoot Highway, is not in Washington anyway; thus, prompting us to create the concept of Tours of geographic areas. The flood-gate of good ideas just keeps pouring out.

Before you leave this page you may want to check out the page called “The Oregon Bigfoot Highway” which highlights the book of the same name.

Thanks to “Google Maps,” we can show you the area of our quest:

We start at the southern part of the experience…

Mehama

You have to drive through Mehema to get to Lyons, Oregon. Try the Ginger Bread House before or after you start on the Oregon Bigfoot Highway. Great food like Burgers, ice cream, and more!

Lyons

We currently have one Bigfoot “shop” in Lyons, Oregon, and we have been looking forward to visiting and figuring out the rest of this mystery, presented to us by Catherine Taylor.

Bigfoot Silhouettes

We can’t find Bigfoot Silhouettes. When we have more time we will make it a day trip to look for the silhouettes of a Bigfoot family, in the yard of a locations that builds and sells them.

From the Gingerbread House you can deviate south from HWY 22 to get to Scio, and Albany, Oregon. A nice drive for us here in Albany, Oregon, about 28 minutes.

Detroit
Co-author of the “Oregon Bigfoot Highway,” has said that, “but from a driving perspective it starts in Detroit, Oregon if you are driving south to north.”

From Detroit you leave HWY 22 and head north at the junction.

Detroit will welcome, you! If you passed this sign, the Junction is now behind you, by a few feet.

The Mountain High Grocery had two Bigfoot plush creatures; meaning, their is potential for this to be a Bigfoot store. We will check again on a future trip (and we did in 2020) because some stores have more Bigfoot merchandise in a seasonal manner, and this may be the case.

A lot of character out in front…

You will see a Bigfoot dining location in the background, Cedars Restaurant and Lounge.

Breitenbush

The only signs of Breitenbush  seemed to be a lake and a couple of campgrounds. Let us know if their is a town that we missed.

Ripplebrook

“Ripplebrook is an unincorporated community in Clackamas County, Oregon, United States. It is located at the eastern terminus of Oregon Route 224, at an intersection with forest highways 46 and 57, in the Mount Hood National Forest.” Wikipedia

Ripplebrook is 64% of the trip, if heading to north. 1 hour 45 minutes by car, for 45.2 miles.

Look at the proximity to Mt. Jefferson.

Three Lynx

Three Lynx is off the main Highway and we did not explore it yet. It felt like a setting for a Bigfoot movie. Take Pipeline Road to Three Lynx and this road continues on with an option to get back to HWY 224 (Oregon Bigfoot Highway) further south. See map below.

Estacada

Estacada, Oregon is the northern beginning of the Oregon Bigfoot Highway.

You see at the bottom of the Estacada map, where HWY 224 begins. Follow it south.

If you go to this restaurant, The Cazadero, you are at the gateway of the Oregon Bigfoot Highway.
