Made in Oregon, stores sell this book.

We found this Book at Made in Oregon, Clackamas Town Center, Portland, Oregon. This book can also be seen at that page. Why? because Sandy at the Clackamas Town Center location, said, “We have a book you would like.”
Sandy was right this is exactly the kind of book our website wants to; earning her an extra place in our Eruption ALL-STARS page:
So why does this book earn a spot in BigfootEruption.com?
If you recall, we have another book listed in the website, “Valley of the Skookum,” because it deals with a specific location of intense Squatchiness, in a specific community, with roads, towns, and so on, in Washington State. In other words, it is a place you can visit, and likely find services that reflect this Bigfoot local legend-heritage.
“The Oregon Bigfoot Highway” does this very thing. It catalogs the last 100 years of activity on a 71 mile trek of scenic byway, from Clackamas (the Portland, Oregon vicinity) and down to Detroit, Oregon which is well known for Detroit Lake. It is also know for heavy Bigfoot activity which is discussed in Cliff Barackman’s “Bigfoot Road Trip” (see Sasquatch Pizza and Wings). He visits the Detroit area in this video.
This heavy Bigfoot activity is what “The Oregon Bigfoot Highway” is about.
Here is a virtual Google map starting at the northern point, Estacada, Oregon. Follow State Highway 224 passing the Cazadero restaurant, or stop for lunch first and then follow 224.
Expand and manipulate the map as needed, as you follow it south:
From the Detroit, Oregon perspective follow this virtual map, travelling north. Follow NF-46 which is equal to State Highway 224 (Scenic Byway No. 5):
Look for Mount Jefferson on this journey…

2018 Oregon Bigfoot Highway Eruption Tour:
The page for the 2018 Oregon Bigfoot Highway Tour is now built. History shows we tried to have it completed and posted in August, 2018.
In August, 2018 Bigfoot Eruption, explored the Oregon Bigfoot Highway, starting in Estacada, Oregon.
OK, let’s follow our trip in the southward direction…
The Oregon Bigfoot Highway is Oregon State Highway 224. The above picture is taken from the parking lot of the Cazadero restaurant.
From Portland, Oregon we headed Southeast to Estacada, Oregon. This was a nice drive through suburban countryside; farms mixed with forest terrain.
Highway 224 (Oregon Bigfoot Highway) provided a scenic drive which did seem epic. The farther south you go, the thicker the trees get. It seemed like another world. I kept thinking of the book, The Oregon Bigfoot Highway, and all the sightings that had been reported over the last 100 years. We did feel that we were passing through an area, where we were the visitors.
Hard to see in a picture, but the water of the Clackamas River at times came close to the “blue” of Crater Lake, Oregon which is the bluest Blue we have ever seen.
Campers were speckled for many miles between the highway and the river. Eventually, this went away as actual campgrounds became common. In no other sense was there anything that was over civilized. In other words, there was nowhere to get away from the highway. Meaning, the highway ran right through the Bigfoot rich heritage. For sightings to happen, they mostly would have to happen near the highway. Again, we are trying to say, the highway runs through Bigfoot’s stomping grounds. Except for humankind putting a highway through it, this wilderness did not belong to us. You could feel it. Like, you left your world behind. Amazing the feeling to drive through it, and then come out on the other side.
Three Lynx was the first town we came to, but it was on a side road, and we will have to check it out another time.
Soon after was Ripplebrook, and the Camp Store had Bigfoot merchandise: Bigfoot pajamas, socks, hoodies, games, and shirts. All seemed original, and fitting for a Camp store. You would need these things if camping. They also had actual camping gear, maps and more.
Much further south was Breitenbush, which seemed like it was just the Campground; we did not see a town.
The Humbug Campground was soon after.
Soon after this was Detroit; the journey had ended.
Fortunately Detroit had a Squatchy Restaurant, and a grocery store with Bigfoot plush creatures.
Once in Detroit, it seemed like we were back to the real world of outdoor sports enthusiasts that had escaped to the mountains for the weekend. Oddly, we felt safe once again, in our version of the real world. The portal experience of the Oregon Bigfoot Highway, now behind us to the north.
What is it about the Bigfoot phenomenon, that takes you to another place? A place we want to be; however, uncomfortable. There must be something to this.
